The Nativity of John the Baptist - Year B

The Music Group is leading the music later today, the Vigil Mass of the Nativity of John the Baptist, Year B. ENTRANCE:- Oh the word of my Lord, deep within my being. KYRIE:- Camino Mass. GLORIA:- Camino Mass. RESPONSORIAL PSALM: from "Sing the Psalms Simply" by John Ainslie GOSPEL ACCLAMATION:- No 9 PRESENTATION OF THE GIFTS:- You are near. SANCTUS:- High Peak Mass. AGNUS DEI:- High Peak Mass. COMMUNION:- Processional Chant (from "English Proper Chants" by John Ainslie) RECESSIONAL:- Blest be the Lord. The hymn that we will be singing during the Presentation of the Gifts was formerly known as "Yahweh, I know you are near".  However, we are under instruction to no longer use "Yahweh" and to replace it with "The Lord" or "Lord".  This applies to readings from Scripture as well as hymns. For those not aware of the origin of Yahweh, it comes from when Moses was confronted by God in the burning bush.

10th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Year B

The Music Group is leading the music this Saturday, the 10th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Year B. ENTRANCE:- Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us KYRIE:- Camino Mass GLORIA:- Camino Mass RESPONSORIAL PSALM: CJM GOSPEL ACCLAMATION:- No 1 PRESENTATION OF THE GIFTS:- One bread, one body SANCTUS:- Mass of St Philip Howard AGNUS DEI:- Mass of St Philip Howard COMMUNION:- Lead me Lord RECESSIONAL:- He who would valiant be 'gainst all disaster. We often use this CJM setting of the Psalm as a Communion Processional, so it's nice to use it as was originally intended.  We do, however, use an adapted version of what was composed.  The original has alternate verse lines sung and spoken; but I adapted this so that it is all sung by two voices taking alternate lines. You can hear the original version  here - the harmonisation in the response is beautiful.
